You can volunteer if you are on benefits.  As long as you are still actively seeking work it should not affect them. However you should always check with your benefits agency and you should always tell them if you are volunteering.

You can gain skills and experience from volunteering and it can help you to remain in touch with the world of work.  It would also mean you were helping out your local community.

Volunteer Drivers - Gofar Minibus

Volunteers need to be between the ages of 25 and 70 for insurance purposes and have a full driving license with D1 entitlement.

Volunteer Attendants - Minibus

Volunteers will need to have a community spirit, be honest, reliable, caring and responsible.

MIDAS Minibus training is free for all volunteers
